1. Introduce yourself for those who don’t know who you are.
Rebeca Pereira De Assis Also known as Brazilian Princess
2. Where are you from?
I was born In Brasilia, Brazil and lived in Canada for many years and was trafficked into the United States with my then 6 year old son in 2013.
3. Where do you currently reside?
In the Bay Area near San Francisco, I’m unable to share exact location due to safety. The men that trafficked me here are still looking for me and since the police and FBI here did nothing for my case. I have to stay guarded and protect my location at all times.
4. What was life like growing up?
I went through hell from birth. I was born with one of the worst forms of cleft palate, cleft lip. A portion of my face was missing. My biological dad would beat me a lot and cause me to have repeated surgeries.
I had many years of reconstructive facial surgery and didn’t look like a person till I was 25 years old. I remember being bullied in school. One other classmate was so offended by how I looked that he spit in my face.I remember being afraid of going to school. Music was definitely my therapy and took me out of this world when I couldn’t deal with all the bad experiences growing up. I was removed from my mother at 11 years old for child abuse. I endured every type of abuse that you can imagine as a young child.
My step dad told my mom that it would be a waste of money to get an attorney to get me. My mother never fought for me to get me back. I became a Crown Ward at 14 years old in Canada, which is the equivalent to Ward of the state. I lived in many different group homes and signed myself out of the Children’s Aid Society in Canada when I was 17. And I am keeping it real. The streets really did raise me. I went through more trauma than many people can relate. I believe because of how everything happened for me growing up was definitely the cause of me being trafficked into the U.S. in 2013 with my then 6 year old son and then losing my 3 sons in 2016 as a result of domestic violence. I didn’t know what domestic violence was until my sons were removed from me. I always saw my mother getting beaten and thought abuse was normal. And now I can be the one to break this cycle since I know better. I should have left my husband and not tolerated his abuse. What I lost no one can understand. My 3 sons were everything to me. I love them so much that I stayed here undocumented and endured 6 years of hell living on the streets in hope that one day I could see them again. I fought for my sons and still lost them because at that time I was undocumented and didn’t have any good representation. But my faith in God is strong and I believe that God will reveal his glory and reunite me with my sons.
5. How long have you been making music?
I first started writing songs between the ages of 11 to 14 and I have tried to record music since 2010 but removed those songs since I no longer make Secular music. Once I was laid off from Tesla I used my severance pay to pay for my studio time this year.
6. What or who inspired you to become a Singer?
I was inspired to be a singer because when I was young singing made me happy. It takes me to another place.
7. Do you write and arrange your own music?
Yes, I write all my songs and do not believe in having others write my lyrics for me. I love being original and unique.
8. What Genre of Music do you make?
I currently make Christian Trap music and will be recording new music in September which is considered Christian Rock and Latin music. I don’t make my music for the church. I create harvest music and my music will be played in Nightclubs, Bars, strip clubs and everywhere I can send it to. I plan to bring millions of souls to the kingdom of heaven. I consider myself to be a musical evangelist. One day I will break through the mainstream billboard charts and make an impact on this generation.
9. What advice would you give your younger self?
Don’t ever let a man beat you and take advantage of you and yes wait until you’re married because you’re worth waiting for and Trust God and obey your instincts.
10. What advice would you give younger Artist?
Don’t trust everyone. Don’t be vulnerable. Only go to trustworthy recording studios, engineers, beat makers, videographers and photographers. (I lost so much money trusting the wrong people.)
11. How hard is it to navigate the Music business as a woman?
Especially since so many are taken advantage of?
It’s very hard and thankfully I finally found a few reputable and wonderful individuals here in the Bay Area.
12. Are you working on New Music?
Yes, I am recording 5 songs in total in September of 2024. and I have a total of 3 songs also awaiting to be released. I will have 8 songs in total released in the next 6 months.
13. What New Singles or Projects do you currently have released on digital platforms?
I just released “Breathe” . This song is about my 3 sons that I lost in 2016.
14. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I see myself as either a millionaire and hopefully billionaire, since I have so many business ideas and endeavors to accomplish. I also plan to build shelters all across the U.S. for trafficking and domestic violence survivors. I remember when I was in the trafficking situation with my then 6 year old son we were harbored in different locations in California. We were allowed to go to church and to the food bank to get food.
I remember every church that me and my son went to would say I’ll pray for you. And one pastor said he will pray for me to get out of the spirit of slavery. The least he could have done was help my 6 year old son. And I remember when I was homeless for 6 years after losing my sons. Every church I went to was very cold and cruel and I will never forget. I will make sure that no other woman or child ever gets dismissed like both my son and myself were. I can’t just confess Jesus. I have to live it. And that’s why I will make sure to build the best shelters in the United States and give God all the glory.
15. Do you have anyone you would like to shout out?
Yes, I give a big shout out to Brock, one of the most wonderful engineers I’ve ever known. She has mixed and mastered for me and she is my friend.
Trevor Gabriel at Cactus House Recordings, Ryan Palma who recorded me in the past when Red Wall Studio was open in the Bay Area. He has also mixed and mastered Music for me.
And lastly, I give a big shout out to Elon Musk. Although I was a part of the recent layoffs at Tesla during my workman's comp leave. I have to thank Elon because I was homeless for 6 years and because Tesla pays so well I got out of that just after working at Tesla for 3 months. I am hopeful that one day I could meet Elon Musk. Before I was laid off this year. I was planning to transfer to Austin, Texas since the cost of living in California is way too high. I was planning to work on the cyber truck and save up for the type of attorney that reverses adoptions. I hope one day I could have a miracle and have another chance at Tesla.
